Converting a car to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) involves modifying its fuel system to operate using CNG instead of conventional gasoline or diesel. This conversion offers several benefits, including reduced fuel costs, lower emissions, and longer engine life. The heart of our offer is Fuel Fusion – our own system. It allows you to replace part of the diesel – used to fuel your
engine – with gas (LPG, CNG or LNG). The level of replacement depends on kind of machine, engine and used gas.

Our system contains the ECU driver – a device that monitor parameters and adjusting the amount of injected gas. Moreover, it captures the most important data of the installation. It lets you create detail reports about the system and both fuels usage.

Components of a CNG Conversion Kit

  1. CNG Cylinders:
    • Function: Store compressed natural gas at high pressures (typically 200-250 bar).

  2. Pressure Regulator:
    • Function: Reduces the high pressure of the CNG to a level suitable for the engine.

  3. Mixer or Injector System:
    • Function: Mixes CNG with air in the correct ratio before it enters the combustion chamber.
    • Types: Carbureted systems use a mixer, while modern fuel-injected systems use CNG injectors.
  4. Electronic Control Unit (ECU):
    • Function: Manages the operation of the CNG system, ensuring the correct fuel mixture and timing.
    • Integration: Interfaces with the car’s existing ECU for seamless operation.
  5. Fuel Lines and Fittings:
    • Function: High-pressure lines transport CNG from the cylinders to the regulator and then to the engine.
    • Material: Made from materials that can withstand high pressure and prevent leaks.
  6. Solenoid Valves:
    • Function: Control the flow of CNG to the engine and can shut off the fuel supply when the engine is not running.
  7. Pressure Gauge:
    • Function: Allows monitoring of the CNG pressure in the cylinder.
  8. Refueling Adapter:
    • Function: Facilitates refueling the CNG cylinders from a CNG fueling station.
  9. Mounting Hardware:
    • Function: Securely mounts all components to the vehicle.

Conversion Process

  1. Assessment and Preparation:
    • Vehicle Suitability: Determine if the vehicle is suitable for CNG conversion. Some older or high-performance vehicles may not be compatible.
    • Certification: Ensure the conversion kit and installation process comply with local regulations and safety standards.
    • Workspace: Perform the conversion in a well-ventilated area, ideally with professional tools and equipment.
  2. Installation of CNG Cylinders:
    • Location: Typically mounted in the trunk or under the vehicle.
    • Mounting: Secure the cylinders using brackets and hardware to ensure they are stable and protected from impact.
  3. Installation of Pressure Regulator:
    • Mounting: Secure the regulator in a location that is easily accessible for maintenance.
    • Connections: Connect the high-pressure line from the CNG cylinder to the regulator.
  4. Installation of Mixer or Injector System:
    • Mixer: For carbureted engines, install the mixer between the air filter and the intake manifold.
    • Injectors: For fuel-injected engines, install CNG injectors in the intake manifold and connect them to the fuel rail.
  5. Installation of ECU:
    • Integration: Connect the CNG ECU to the vehicle’s existing ECU, sensors, and injectors.
    • Calibration: Program the ECU to manage the fuel mixture and timing for CNG operation.
  6. Installation of Solenoid Valves and Fuel Lines:
    • Fuel Lines: Run high-pressure fuel lines from the CNG cylinders to the regulator and from the regulator to the engine.
    • Solenoid Valves: Install valves in the fuel lines to control the flow of CNG.
  7. Pressure Gauge and Refueling Adapter:
    • Gauge: Install a pressure gauge in an easily visible location to monitor CNG levels.
    • Adapter: Install the refueling adapter to allow easy refilling of the CNG cylinders.
  8. Testing and Calibration:
    • Leak Test: Check all connections and fittings for leaks using a soapy water solution or a leak detection device.
    • Engine Test: Start the engine and check for smooth operation. Adjust the ECU settings as necessary for optimal performance.
  9. Safety Inspection:
    • Certification: Have the conversion inspected and certified by a qualified technician to ensure it meets safety and regulatory standards.
